James Bokovoy is a photographer based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, known for his work in travel, event, nature and wildlife photography. His Instagram bio describes him as a "Jesus follower, husband, father, world wanderer, explorer, photography instructor, and artist”. He spent the first six years of his life in Ethiopia, developing a love for travel, Africa, adventure and photography. He developed a love for the outdoors and photography at a young age, spending more time outdoors exploring nature than in front of the T.V. National Geographic and Life magazines around his home stoked his sense of adventure and deepened his love of photography. His photographer father further encouraged his interest in photography, eventually gifting him a Nikon F3T so he would leave his cameras alone. For the last forty years James has pursued his photography passion, personally and professionally. Since 2008, James has traveled extensively throughout Africa, Asia and South America exploring and photographing. More recently he formed Rare Planet Expeditions, a travel photography workshop company, focused on sharing this amazing planet with other photographers.
